At our office, we offer primary care in general pediatrics.
- Your primary care team is your foundation for health information and diagnosis and treatment of disease, responsible for coordinating all aspects of your general medical care.
- Primary care traditionally includes internal medicine for adults, family medicine for the whole family, and general pediatrics specifically for children.
- Pediatrics is the study of the growth, development, wellness, and diseases of children. This specialty encompasses a wide variety of preventive care, diagnosis, and treatment between the ages of birth and approximately 18 years.
- A pediatrician is a physician who has completed medical school and pediatric residency training.
- Pediatric nurse practitioners have experience as pediatric nurses and have chosen to take their patient care to the next level by completing a masters of science in nursing. Both are concerned with the health and wellbeing of your child, whether you are here for a check-up, an acute visit, or a chronic problem.

What you can expect at your visits here is that your appointment is not only with the physician, but with the whole team. At Equipoise, we have a team-based approach, and our staff works together to take care of your child.
Some visits are quick, some need more time, some are straightforward, and some are complicated. All will receive our best. Please allow extra time in case unforeseen issues arise such as a child needing some type of treatment, vaccines, lab work, patient education, or other interventions.
Both evidence-based medicine as well as common sense experience inform our practice style. Our nursing and physician staff have a combined 30 years of experience working with kids in the medical field, as well as parenting 11 children of our own between us.
